Wullae Wright-The Orange Line
A monster of an album.Breathtaking,unique,powerful & moving.
A rich tapestry of sounds & emotions.musically & lyrically eclectic moving through rock to folk to indie whilst not being afraid to side step in to other genres occasionally. All of it underpinned by a beautiful vocal that moves from haunting melancholy to soulful laments with ease. The album opens with the 8 minutes plus of 'UFO'.The strings sound superb whilst the guitar alternates between a gentle sound and a heavy fuzz.the vocals mirroring this.'A stage with your own fears' & 'Roadtrippin' are next.mesmerising vocals take you on a journey conjuring feelings of movement and thoughts of vast landscapes.Superb arrangement & production throughout this album.the sense of solitude continues even on slightly more upbeat tracks like 'Stand Alone'. Which features Stuart Carroll. The songs are multi-faceted & multi-layered with twists and turns round every wonderful corner.'You never said anything' is a case in point with its jazz style backdrop.'Living on the edge' which has a very spooky ethereal sound and like a few songs on this album wouldn't feel out of place on a movie score.'Plasticland' has an amazing funky psyche sound with an indie core running through.'Beware:Beckon Angels has a definite punk edge to it and the album closer 'All the time' just feels like the end of a great journey or the end of a relationship. So different to anything else out there, this is an album of quality that has to be heard.get on this.you will be blown a way.madferit.
