The Sherlocks at Cockpit 3 Leeds.
Made my way down to cockpit 3 last night.great little venue.small & hot.ideal for a sweaty indie night featuring the boys from Bolton upon dearne near sheffield.first up was Jordan Allen.superbly talented with some top tunes.always on top form.next up were the vendettas.i thought they were very good.loads of energy and some finely crafted songs.then came the Delaplains.first time I'd seen them and what a treat.jangly guitars with dreamy tunes harking back to madchesters hey day with a good nod to the 60s thrown in.they are a band destined for big things.finally time for the main event.the atmosphere took on an air of anticipation as the travelling 'sherlocks army' started chanting and dancing even before the Sherlocks took to the stage.mayhem duly followed with the crowd going mental! Jumping pogoing falling it was all going off in the best possible way.
One poor unfortunate fell on to the stage in all the excitement and knocked down lead vocalist Kiaran's mike stand.he was on top form as usual ably assisted by brother Brandon on the sticks.while the Davidson brothers josh and Andy on guitar and bass respectively were as professional as ever and look like they were born to play.
The full house were loving old favourites like 'shine your light' & the awesome 'Emily'.tracks from the lads recently released e.p. went down a storm with 'Chasing Shadows' threatening to take the roof off.this was the first stop on their current tour which sees them travelling as far as Glasgow and London.sure to sell out wherever they go these South Yorkshire boys are immensely popular and give a knock out performance every time they play.do yourself a favour and grab a ticket for one of their shows. The Sherlocks take a bow.you were amazing!!! Mad Ferret
